Thanks for checking out my blog. My name is Alexandra Santiago. I’m a 25-year-old Staten Island Native who has loved and lived sports my entire life. I graduated from Hofstra University in 2011 with a BA in Broadcast Journalism. I’m a proud alum of Radio Hofstra University where I learned and did so many amazing things as a member of the WRHU Sports Department, from board-oping New York Islanders games to calling the 2011 CAA clincher for the softball team.
I currently work at Sirius XM in New York, where I have been apart of the launch of two new channels: Sirius XM NBA Radio, and more recently, Bleacher Report Radio. I am currently an Associate Producer on Bleacher Report Radio, working primarily on the afternoon show. I am still the weekend producer at Sirius XM NBA Radio, responsible for booking guests on Saturdays, working with various hosts and connecting with fans via social media. Prior to that, I split time as a part-time play-by-play board operator and a sports newsroom audio editor at Sirius. I’m in my third year there and I’ve loved every minute of it. I’m always looking for a chance to further my career with a full-time position either behind-the-scenes or on-air.
I come from a writing background. I was my high schools sports editor for two years and wrote for the paper my entire high school career. So I thought it was time to get back to those roots.
Hope you enjoy my words here and feel free to leave comments and criticisms. My words/opinions here are my own.
